My journey to doula-ing started after the birth of my first child. While pregnant, my husband and I lived in Florida. We had a doula come to our house and teach us childbirth ed. She listened to me and what I wanted out of the birth. She suggested I check out a birth center (freestanding), because that sounded more like my vision. We did, and we loved the birth center...however, I was moving to NY before the birth of our son.
Our plan changed yet again, and had a wonderful and amazing homebirth in NY with my two midwives. I adopted them into my family, they changed my life! Each of these women were a huge part of my evolvement into a doula. My life was forever changed, and I knew I needed to help other women transition into motherhood as well.
Throughout the years, we have also added two more children to our family, even doula-ing right up to my own due date! I hold a very strong commitment to my clients, and am honored to be a part of their birth.
Birth and Postpartum Doula, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, Childbirth Educator and Instructor
As a birth doula for 5 years, I have a tremendous passion for helping women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. I support and trust in a woman’s choice to give birth in whatever way she feels most comfortable and empowered. I specialize in compassionate care to all families, especially those who have experienced a previous difficult or traumatic pregnancy, birth or postpartum period
In 2011 I received my birth doula certification from Life Cycles Center in Buffalo, NY and in 2016 through Hypnobabies as a certified Hypno-doula. Since completing my certification, I have trained as a childbirth educator with Appletree Family Ministries and I received additional instruction from Breastfeeding USA, Birthing from Within and Hearthside in perinatal loss and bereavement. I am currently certifying as birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International. My future professional goals include training in birth art and additional studies to help mothers who have experienced birth trauma.
Becoming a doula has lit a fire inside of me like nothing else. The births of my older two children left me with much to work through and process, however their births have been the inspiration for my work. After the births of my 3rd and 4th children I felt powerful and strong! Their births have been my confirmation that I am on the path God has chosen for me to walk...to come along side other birthing mothers and help them work towards achieving healthy, happy pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods.

Childbirth Services for Powerful Mamas
My interest in becoming a birth and postpartum doula began during my own transformative journey through pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Before my pregnancy, I had little understanding of the power of the female body, the strength of one’s will, and the value of women-to-women support and community in all aspects of pregnancy and motherhood. While pregnant, I committed myself to learning as much as I could about pregnancy wellness, childbirth options, and the birth process. I read countless books and attended a number of birth-related workshops and classes. I developed a vision for my own birth and hired a supportive doula. Through the power of childbirth education, the support of birth-related community resources, and the experience I gained as an active participant in my own labor and delivery, I discovered that birth is not merely a bodily function, but an empowering experience that allows women to develop an identity as a mother, as a member of a community of women, and as a powerful individual.
My vision as a birth doula is to provide continuous support and compassionate guidance throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I value the intuition women have over their bodies and their babies before, during, and after birth. I advocate for evidence-based care and support informed decision-making by every woman and her partner. My goal as a doula is to enhance my clients’ birth experience by providing a calm, nurturing, and judgment-free environment from our very first interview to our final postpartum meeting. I am eager to work with birth partners, older children, and other extended family to help support your personal birth vision.
As a postpartum doula, I aim to support and nurture you and your new family through this time of transition. I hope to inspire every woman to recognize the strength of her body, the power of her mind, and the validity of her intuition throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
I would be honored to work with you and your family as you continue on your journey through womanhood.
Birth and Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator
My journey of becoming a doula began after I had my 2 children. My own pregnancies and births gave me a newly developed passion for the human body and desire to support other families as they become parents. Through my adjustment to motherhood, I was fortunate to have a network of people surrounding me to give me the support I needed. My family, friends, coworkers and birth workers helped me through what was one of the most difficult transitions of my life. This is what I believe being a doula is about.
Whether you are looking for a birth doula or a postpartum doula, I am committed to providing a calm, supportive and active presence for you to assist in the transition from being pregnant to being a parent. As a yoga teacher, I integrate many philosophies of yoga into my doula practice. Yoga focuses on mind, body, breath awareness and my approach as a doula incorporates mindful meditation, gentle yoga movements, and guided relaxation. As a postpartum doula, I also offer yoga techniques as a way to adjust after birth by releasing tension, reducing stress, and helping with sleep and relaxation.
I believe that each pregnancy comes with it’s own set of unique differences, just as each baby has their own differences and personalities. I will ensure you have evidence based information to make informed decisions and I will provide judgement free support for each decision you make throughout your pregnancy, birth, and throughout the fourth trimester.
Your family is growing and changing. With any change in life, there are times of sadness, fear, and joy. It really does take a village to ensure that the right supports are set up to face these changes head on. I am grateful to my village, especially my husband and my family who allow me to follow this career path and support me unconditionally. I would be honored to be part of your village and support you through your journey.
