lactation support

Lactation Services in Syracuse and the Surrounding Areas

Many women find that breastfeeding is not something that "comes naturally" at first. The breastfeeding relationship between mother and baby can present a wide learning curve. Families can get a head start with a prenatal breastfeeding consultation. This includes a basic instruction, a review of basic supplies and equipment, and what to expect during the first weeks.

Once baby arrives, an in-home lactation consultation can support you by offering assistance with latch and positioning, helping you read behavioral cues in order to meet your baby’s needs, back to work assistance with breast pumps and pumping, and how to maximize and maintain your breast milk production.

At CNY Doula Connection we want to ensure that your breastfeeding journey is a joyful and fulfilling one.

In-home lactation visits are only available in the greater CNY area. Additional travel fee may apply if you reside outside of our immediate area (please call/email the office to discuss).

Rentals

Infant Scale Rental

There may be special circumstances, such as infants born prematurely or with medical problems, that may warrant the need for frequent weight checks. For others, it may give you peace of mind that your baby is taking in adequate milk intake. This scale accurately determines how much a baby has taken at a given feeding. You simply weigh the baby before and after a feeding,  and the scale calculates the intake.

Non professional infant scales cannot offer this level of accuracy. Renting makes this an affordable option to track your baby's weight.

Rental Details:
  • $48 per week, $100 monthly (4 weeks), $260 for three months, $490 six months
  • Rental includes the scale, power cord, carrying case, and instructions
  • A credit card is needed to have on file as the security deposit
  • The scale and all of its components including the carrying case must be returned in the same condition in which they were provided and in proper working order. If the scale or any of its components are not returned in good condition or defective, the full cost of replacement will be charged to the card provided. A $25 charge will be placed on the credit card provided if the scale and its components have not been properly cleaned prior to being returned.
